Dry Needling

Dry needling is a procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points, or “knots” of muscle that form when a muscle can not relax. The goal of dry needling is to release tension on tight muscle bands associated with trigger points thereby relieving pain.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine, utilizing cups on the skin for suction. The goal of cupping is to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being. The cups may be moved from place to place and/or be used with movement if appropriate.

PNF

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular approach (PNF) is a hands on approach using a patient’s strengths to enhance movement and function. Layers of facilitation (manual, visual, verbal) are added as needed to guide clients learning, facilitate and strengthen normal movement patterns, and increase independent function. The goal is for the individual to successfully complete a task without facilitation.

Individualized Exercise Prescription

We take pride in the time we take to ensure you are given individualized care. This means we evaluate more than your condition/problem, you present your ability as a whole person. After all, everything is connected in our body! Based on our evaluation, we prescribe personalized exercises for your condition and ability, as opposed to a general set of exercises. We guide you manually to ensure proper technique and modify the level of difficulty, throughout your progress.

Balance Training/Fall Prevention

Balance training involves doing exercises that strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, as well as increasing your balance reactions. What does that mean? It means we train your balance system to be alert at all times so you can enjoy normal activities without worrying about falling by improving your stability and reducing falls.

Running Analysis

70-80% of runners are injured at some point while training. We can provide an assessment of your running mechanics through visual analysis and slow motion filming. This can be performed on a treadmill or over ground with multi-angle filming. Individualized assessment is then performed to address asymmetries and inefficient mechanics. Additional evaluation of ROM and strength is recommended.
